Modifying keyboard mapping under HP Entria remote X Terminal
Under our HP servers, no problem. But under our RedHat servers, under gnome we have a keymap trouble.
After support from redhat, they say that our keymap is not good for gnome
Here is the result of "modmap -pm":
xmodmap: up to 3 keys per modifier, (keycodes in parentheses):
shift Shift_L (0x1b), Shift_R (0x62)
lock Caps_Lock (0x1d)
control Control_L (0x1a), Control_R (0x61)
mod1 Alt_L (0x22), Alt_R (0x42), Mode_switch (0x84)
mod2
mod3
mod4
mod5
They say that Mode_Switch (0x84) should not have the same modifier as other.
But how to change that ?
Thanks for help

Re: Modifying keyboard mapping under HP Entria remote X Terminal
xtkeymap
But this tool apparently does not working for my ENTRIA (firmware 6.10 and enware 7.11)
In entria log i see :
read_details_name_table(): malloc_error when loading the xtkeymap_DB file.

Re: Modifying keyboard mapping under HP Entria remote X Terminal
export in users .profile or equivalent the following variable : export XKB_DISABLE=1
ensure the .profile is being sourced .... eg for gnome-terminal ensure preferences->Use --login by default, is enabled, then
start your application via the commnad line of the gnome-terminal .... result ?
I beleive this is based around differences between HP's and Xfrees Xserver X keyboard extensions ... I maybe wrong, other than that I can only suggest
a) use kde
b) raise a call with your local HP Response Centre ...
ps looking forward to the big Rugby match on Sunday.
