monitor gpgslim parameter and checking process deactivation
I am running HP-UX 10.20 on a 744 and have run into a problem with processes being deactivated.
It looks like the system is thrashing or at least the OS thinks it is thrashing. There is an issue with HP-UX and "False Deactivations". The problem is addressed in PHKL_17869 for HP-UX 11.x but there is no corresponding patch for 10.x.
I've review the HP-UX Memory Management white paper and the HP-UX Kernel Tuning and Performance Guide.
I'm using Glance and MeasureWare to monitor the system paging activity. I would like to monitor the 'gpgslim' value that vhand maintains but can't find that parameter in the list that glance can display.
Anybody out there know a way to check gpgslim?
Thanks.

Re: monitor gpgslim parameter and checking process deactivation
Thanks Hanwant. I already found that web page. The paper describes how 'gpgslim' is calculated but wat I'm really looking for is a way to monitor the value of gpgslim to see how it varies over time.
