Mounting CD-ROM on HP-UX

I normally mount cdrom on HP-UX 11.0 with the following commands

/usr/sbin/pfs_mountd &
/usr/sbin/pfsd &
pfs_mount /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0 /cdrom

However, I had to use a different mount command to mount an Application CD, which is as follows

mount -o cdcase /dev/dsk/c0t0d0 /cdrom

I would like to know the difference between both the mount commands and the role of pfsd.

Re: Mounting CD-ROM on HP-UX

Simply put, pfs* is a pice of software from a company known as Young Minds Inc. which HP used/uses.
The mount command is a standard UX command, thaht has options for things such as changing case.
With some recent patches for hP-UX, you no longer need to use PFS, which was needed for ISO style written CD's or CD's that did not have a "standard" UX format in the file names. You now only need to use the normal mount commands, thus alleviating many of the inherent problems that occur with using PFS.

PHKL_28060 Y2k; Rock Ridge ext. for ISO-9660
PHKL_26450 Rock Ridge ext for ISO-9660
PHCO_26449 Add Rock Ridge ext. mount_cdfs(1M)

The mount command becomes:
# mount -F cdfs -o rr /dev/dsk/c#d#t# /cdrom
