No problem. However, if root's home directory is within /home, move it to a directory with the "/" filesystem. This way you will avoid problems in single user mode.

If /home is growing (it always does if you allow users on the system), then moving it to a different volume group is highly recommended. It doesn't matter if Ignite/UX doesn't backup /home's volume group--that's what you have regular backups for. Ignite/UX is only to restore vg00 which gets HP-UX started.
