server1 : HP 9000 Series L2000, B.11.23 U
server2 : HP 9000 Series RP744, B.11.11 U
I wanna move the running ignite server from server1 to server2 for the recovery archive.
server1 has the archive already. to make the server2 as the ignite server, i did the following.
copied the following from server1 to server2
1) /etc/opt/ignite/instl_boottab
2) /etc/inetd.conf
3) /etc/exports
4) /var/opt/ignite/*
registered the depot
swreg -l depot /var/opt/ignite/depots/recovery_cmds
Is there any other settings that i need to follow or is it possible for the client to recover with the setting.
please help me out.
regards,
Nag.

SolutionIf you have no extra server to test then create a fresh make_net_recovery from one of your servers. If the make_net_recovery works then you should be good.
Even to simply boot a server from the Ignite server but not actually execute the recovery would be a good test.

Re: moving ignite server for recovery archive
If you do not have a touchy ( users complain alot ) type of environment it will not hurt anything.
My PA and IA servers running to an rx7620 takes about 30-45 minutes or so each.
Schedule it to run at night or the weekend and check the log if need be.
