I have just installed Mozilla on an HP-UX 11i server and set it up to display to my workstation (once it's working I'll set it up for other users).
It loads wonderfully, but comes up with an error message "www.mozilla.org could not be found. Please check the name and try again".
The same message appears for any external site I try, including www.google.co.uk. It accesses an html page on another server in the same building without any difficulty, so I suspect it will be a simple matter to persuade it to access remote sites. Any ideas?

Re: Mozilla not accessing remote web pages
No, I haven't configured a proxy server - step-by-step instructions would be appreciated!

Re: Mozilla not accessing remote web pages
Can you ping something like "yahoo.com" from the command line, becuase if you can't then you have a problem routing out to the internet. If this is the case then you going to have to find the gateway your comapny uses to the ineternet and set up a default route to the gateway. Otherwise, it could be a DNS issue and you need to set /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/nsswitch.conf to point to the correct DNS servers.
ersonally, though, it looks like a routing/firewall problem.

Re: Mozilla not accessing remote web pages
Good to sea your server is up and running (:-)
Your network guys probably have a FireWall, call them and ask them how to configure your system for internet.
Regards and a good weekend,

Re: Mozilla not accessing remote web pages
How about DNS. Is it working properly. Are you able to resolve these remote sites from your command prompt. Do a nslookup and see if you are able to resolve the remote sites.
Hope this helps.

Re: Mozilla not accessing remote web pages
Robert-Jan was spot on with the proxy server. Our head-office sys admin told me what the settings should be and everything is now working wonderfully.
