N/W printer not printing

Hi,

I have configured new C-Class W/Station with Open View. I have installed the Jetadmin Software J4189-11001B Rev E10.18. After the installation I am not able to print any thing even B/W or color printout. Can some one help me at this point.

I dont want to use dumb priver. From OpenView I need color/BW graphs output.

After the configuration I am able to use the queue, can ping to that printer, also I am getting the lp queue number also. But nothing is coming on Printer???

With Regards

Re: N/W printer not printing

Hi

Dunno if this helps, but recently had an issue with a NW printer which again would not print a thing, although could ping OK. After checking config found that is was still set for a serial connection, had been attached to a DTC prior.

Hi,

yes I can ping and check through jet admin also. It shows printer is configured properly.

Still I am not getting any output's.

Re: N/W printer not printing

Hi

Tell me from the command prompt if you issue command

lpstat -o

do you see your prints waiting to go ?

can you print from the command line ?

lp -d printername /etc/group

if you issue this commadn and get nothing from the printer what does lpstat -o now show ?

cheers
John.

Re: N/W printer not printing

Run hpnpadmin to see if network printing is possible:

/opt/hpnp/bin/hpnpadmin -v 12.34.56.78

This will report whether the printer is actually connected to an HP JetDirect card or box.

Note: The ability to print BW or color does not depend on the printer script--it depends on the application.
