I want to install this server but i cant get past
N4000 alloc_pdc_pages: Relocating PDC from 0xffff800000 to 0x7fa00000

I did a lot of research on the forum:
Reset the GSP: No result
Wait a long time becouse it is an ioscan wich takes a while: (I waited 12 hours.... no result)
Boot from cdrom. Same problem.

what is the PDC version?? From GSP, if you do sea ipl, does it list any devices??
There is no substitute to HARDWORK

I have the same problem on every disk.
It just does not get any further than
alloc_pdc_pages: Relocating PDC from 0xffff800000 to 0x7fa00000.
Not even after 12 hours

Re: N4000 alloc_pdc_pages: Relocating PDC from 0xffff800000 to 0x7fa00000

This is the hardware trying to relocate your kernel in memory, using the PDC.
I would log a hardware call for this

Re: N4000 alloc_pdc_pages: Relocating PDC from 0xffff800000 to 0x7fa00000

Hi,

This seams to be a hardware problem.
Probaly memory.

I propose to try the following

1) remove al external devices and reboot
2) remove you memory so that you have only a mimimum memory configuration

If you don't have a reaction after 15 minutes then the modifications didn't solve your problem.

Re: N4000 alloc_pdc_pages: Relocating PDC from 0xffff800000 to 0x7fa00000

Hi,

There is a hardware problem and you need to place a h/w call to HP to get rid of it.

I presume you didn't get any test failure during intial boot prgress screen like
Processor test xxxx

The most probable cause I guess could problem with memory modules. As you can make out from the "warning" message, memory was not test hard ( destructivly) which raises question about their normal funcationality ( bit level errors etc. )

As Melvyn said , the PDC relocation is going on. It might be in loop on account of possible memory module problem.
You can try testing the memory hard by un-setting the non-destructive test bit through
BCH >CO >Fastboot
Then I would check all below and see if system boots.
BCH > IN > BootInfo
BCH > IN > CA
BCH > IN > ME
BCH > IN > IO
BCH > IN > PR
BCH > IN > FRU
BCH > SER > PIM
BCH > SER > ErrorLog
GSP > SL >E
I would provide this info to HP for faster resolution.
