Named: named-xfer[28555]: print_output: short answer (117, 355), zone xxxxxxx
Hi,
could you plase help me in understanding the meaning of this message and if it means an error?
I have 2 hosts (HostA and hostB), both running Hp-ux and Dns bind 8.2.5.
I defined a zone in both Dns's, in HostA as master and in HostB as slave of HostA.
In the syslog I receive a message like this:
named-xfer[28555]: print_output: short answer (117, 355), zone
What does this message mean?
Is it an error to be considered carefully? Apart from this message, the zone transfers seem to be working without problems ...
Thank you in advance. Best regards.
Diego.

Thank you Steve,
I analyzed the articles you sent but seem do not be my case. And the zone looks correct, I couldn't find any illegal resource type.
And, even more odd, there are 4 identical Dns with the very same configuration and the same zone declared as slave, but only one produces this warning in the log.
Thank you again.
Diego.
