There are a number of "ERROR: Wrong version of message received from nameserve" entries in the /etc/rc.log.

What do these messages mean?

Lets see the /etc/rc.config.d/namesvr file.

We need to know if this involves DNS or NIS.

I am not using NIS.
Attach is the error message from /etc/rc.log.

make sure no .old/bak files insides this directory.
