Need some information about deamons

I'm attempting to clean up the boot on some of our servers. I'm wanting to disable the deamons that are not needed. (NIS, SNMP, etc.)
Does anyone know of a document or a web site that lists what each of the daemons does?

Thanx for the help, but I know what those deamons do and I know that were not using them. The information I needed was about the others daemons that I have no idea what they do.

Hi,
there is a document on how to setup a Bastion server with HP-UX 10.x & 11.x.
This document will help you to remove all unwanted daemons and services.
If you search for "bastion" in this forum you will surely find it.

I did a search on Bastion for the entire HP web site. No luck. Could it be under a different key word?
