need to fit greenbar paper to letter; ES450 truncates right side
I just installed a Toshiba ES450 copier that has an lpr printer option. It is printing, but I need reports that would normally run on wide greenbar paper to fit to size on letter paper. This works fine with jetdirect printers. However, the print is normal size and truncates the right-hand side of th epage when I print ot the ES450.

You have far less control over Remote Printers than your do with Network (JetDirect) Printers.
This may help but depending upon the level of control that you need, you may have to use an external JetDirect with a custom interface.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Hi Clay,
That link is to the driver download page, which I have already downloaded and installed. The man pages aren't too helpful, either.
Thanks.

Re: need to fit greenbar paper to letter; ES450 truncates right side
Again, I was hoping the Toshiba interface file might give you some helpful hints but I think your real answer is to convert this puppy to a JetDirect Network printer. The PC's can use the existing Toshiba Network but HP-UX boxes can use an external JetDirect linked to the Toshiba's parallel port. You then have a printer over which you have much more control because the interface file is fully utilized. At best, lpr printers make requests that the remote system may or may not honor. Because the Toshiba uses PCL6 emulation, you should then be about to use a Leserjet interface file.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
