net problems when start samba

I have a new server hp rp 5402 on my net, and i am tryint to configure samba on it in order to access from pc to some dirs for put and read files. when i execute samba.server, i can't access to the server from windows, and suddenly i can´t access to the rest of the net. why mey be happend thi

I would first check for a conflicting IP address.

I use fixed ip, and the one for this server is unique. Also the server is attached to the net and if i don't start samba, there isn't any problem
