Netscape 7.0 download + JRE Query

1. the JRE exec. is available is 1.1.8 but not in 1.3.1 Is there any reason? My applications run the jre exec. and hence if this is not available upgrading to the latest JRE version would cause my application not to run.

2. Is it possible to get a netscape .tar file? The reason being the same as above. My script install netscape as .tar(4.75) but now clients wants it to be upgraded to 7.0. But on the net I am getting only a .depot file and not a .tar file. Has it been customised to our requirement or is it available somewhere on the net as a .tar file?

You may need a newer java

Available at http://www.hp.com/go/java

Newer versions of java will leave your current ones in tact.

Don't forget to patch the os for java.

The link that you have provided installs the mozilla browser but i want the netscape software 7.0. Is this available in the tar format

That tar file is an archive version that is from the same code base as Netscape.

Netscape has tar versions of netscape 6 and before but not 7. They send you to the hp site above.

The depots will work.
