netscape and ldap
Hey everyone ..
I have been asked to play around and configure ldap and sendmail on my test box.. fun fun ..I am wondering do I need an Ldap/Netscape directory server and the Ldap-ux client ? Or just one.

Re: netscape and ldap
I think I just answered my own question. I found a doc that says that after you install and config an LDAP dir and migrate your name service data into it. HPUX client systems locate the dir from the stat up file. So this tells me I need both of them. Now can they be on the same box? I have found the ldap stuff on cd1 ofthe june app sofrware. Where is the server part?

Re: netscape and ldap
Richard,
No problem having Netscape Directory Server on the same box as your LDAP/UX clients services.
Just configure /etc/pam.conf and /etc/nsswitch .conf to use ldap services at login.
You might download Netscape Directory Server from
https://software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/try.pl?productNumber=J4258BA&date=
Regards
Rainer
