Netscape FastTrack web server on HP-UX 11i

Netscape FastTrack web server on HP-UX 11i

Hi,

I've been reading the support documentation and found out that Netscape FastTrack isn't supported on HP-UX 11i, but I would like to know if anyone has ever tried to install it in this OS and how it did.

I'll be watching this thread as well.

I switched to Apache when they switched what came with (the OS) for free, but I like the FastTrack Interface ...

While I haven't tested FastTrack on 11i, I've found Netscape (and iPlanet) servers to be very forward compatible. (i.e. you can run a lower version of Netscape on a higher version of HP-UX, but you CAN NOT run a higher version of Netscape (e.g iPlanet 4.1) on something lower than 11.0.

HP and Netscape/iPlanet changed threading models as version numbers changed, that's why things aren't backward compatible.

Try it. Worse case - it won't run.
