netsend on HP-UX

Hi all ,
what is the equivilant of netsend taht we use on windows system ,on HP-UX ,
so is there a command on HP-UX that have the same functionality

If indeed you are looking for what I think you are looking for, you will need to install the CIFS client on the HP-UX system. I believe it comes with the tool that is similar to net send.
Learn What to do ,How to do and more importantly When to do ?

HPUX cifs doesn't include this functionality. You will need samba:

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Networking/Misc/samba-3.0.10/
then

smbclient -M [ip_address|hostname]

But being that most windows machines have the messenger service turned off this seems vain.

As I recall, HP's CIFS Client only comes with tools for mounting shares. I think you'd actually want the CIFS Server package, which is HP's precompiled Samba. smbclient can send WinPopup messages.
