Network Fault Tolerance/ Data Monitoring

Is there an HP product that monitors the NICs in a HP Server for failures and bottlenecks and can fail-over / split data to/between another NIC?

Re: Network Fault Tolerance/ Data Monitoring

There is nothing I know of that will split data between NICs in case of a bottleneck.

There are several things you can use for failover in case a NIC dies:

MC Service Guard
Auto Port Aggregation (APA)

If you are just looking for monitoring and failover on a single machine, APA would probably fit your needs best.

APA info here:

Failover and load balancing... looks EXACTLY like what I am looking for!!! Thank you very much :)

Re: Network Fault Tolerance/ Data Monitoring

APA can increase bandwidth via multiple NICs, but the LAN switch must support the protocol. Originally, that was a CISCO feature, but I haven't kept up and maybe all new switches have it now, but it is something to check.

As usual the expertise of the itrc users have solved the problem ;) Thank you for your time!
