New date expected at offset

Hello,
In /var/adm/acct/nite we are recently noticing wtmp.xxx files growing to 300MB each night.
wtmperror.xxx files shows:
New date expected at offset 317613600

Running wtmpfix now, but its running for 2+ hours. Any suggestions? Is this the correct approach?
