New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hello Everyone!

If you scan over to the left side bar, you will notice two new points tiers that have been added to the forums!! Users who reach 7,500 points will be awarded a Pharaoh head covering, while those topping the 20,000 milestone will be decorated as an Olympian!

Currently, we have 5 forums members who will transition into new hats immediately!

Jim Ferguson, our beloved top ITRC Forums member, will be wearing the Pharaoh hat for only a short time. During this month of Olympic glory being played out in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah (USA), Jim will likely be awarded his Olympian "gold medal" hat in the coming weeks.

Topping the list will be Clay A. Stephenson, Stefan Farrelly, Patrick Wallek, and Sanjay, all of whom will be crowned as Pharaohs. Hot on their trail are Alex Glennie and Harry d Brown jr!

Thanks to all of those who have contributed their ideas for new hats, as in the following thread: http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x9c87dfe5920fd5118fef0090279cd0f9,00.html

Keep up the great forums contributions, and look forward to the day you can become an Olympian as well!

Best Regards,
Dan

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Great job on the new head gear Dan (& Team).

I've always wondered what it felt like to be a pharoah.

This also gives us another level to shoot for now. Hmmmm..... Olympian in another year or 2 perhaps......

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hmmm..interesting Dan !

But looking to the future (granted very distant future) what does one wear with a fern hat?
I mean everything goes with gold and jewels...but what do accessorize with leaves?
...Well I'll have plenty of time to figure this one out..

Great job guys...now how's bout some different icons for our Profiles...that chick in the red sweater & brown pants is getting a bit boring..

Hope to See Ya in LA,
Rita

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hi Dan:

I wish you could have added some tomatoes to go with the Green Salad hat. I suppose that this does mean that we will need to rethink the tradition of dinging someone when they hit subsequent 2500 point levels and simply wait until they reach a new hat level. Anyway, thanks for the new King Tut hat and more importantly the performance of the Forums seems to be up.

Have you thought about the 50K hat yet?

Regards, Clay

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hi Dan,

Came across the new hats sometime back on the forum. They look nice. The only thing that i have to add is that pharoah to olympian is a long journey. Is is going to be an uphill task to reach the olympian.

Thanks & Regards
Sanjay

Great HATS!!

All we need now is to be able to place peoples photos under the hats....

Will the real Pharoah please stand up?

Good Job Dan!

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Cool new hats!
Now I have new things to aspire to!
If someone reaches 40000, can I suggest the title of Zues/Athena!
I'm just not sure how to put it in a hat. Maybe you could do an arm and lightning bolt. ; )
Congrats, on everyone's new hats!

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hey Dan!
That's pretty cool!

Should change the top 25 tables also so that there's room for more than just the royals!

It's sure gonna be a tough one for beginners!

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Thanks Dan,
Atlast we got something new!

My idea would be
5000 =crown with one feather
10000=crown with two feather
15000=crown with three feather
20000=crown with four feather
And the colour of the crown should change like blue, green, yellow and red respectively.
Our royals will be adding one father in their crown by reaching new levels.

Thanks
Animesh

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

I love it! I was just thinking about it again this afternoon. You might need a "caesar" at 25000 the when JRF hits the mark in a few months :-))

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hi Dan,

Well at least I had the "top" hat for a couple of days, & at my rate, I think Tutankhamen's can keep hold of his for a long while yet.

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Philosophical question,...

How many more 'levels' will we add before we reach the level of 'Deity'? (not wanting to offend any religions).

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hi Dan,

the only Problem is, that JRF will be a Pharoah only for hours, as he already has 19900 points ( 7. Feb. 2002 / 11:59 am CET ).

So we will have a very early Olympic party.
Is HP going to give Jim some "Olympic" tickets for Salt Lake City as a recognition ?

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hi Dan,

great new hats!!

In an early "Congrats to JRF" thread i had the idea of creating a ceasar's hat. The Olympian looks much like the gif i posted then.

Im sure you didn't know of ths, but i like this. (In some way my idea worked)

Re: New Forums Hats Unveiled!!

Hello Everyone,

Thanks very much for your positive feedback. Your contributions to the ITRC Forums have been tremendous, and without your help, we would not be viewing these new hats!

Your feedback during the design process was instrumental in the development of the two new hats, and I'm glad to hear your ideas were adequately captured! Stefan, we definitely reviewed the various threads that had suggestions for the new hats, so thanks for your contribution!

On another note, Bill asked to extend the top user list past 25 on the home page. Currently, that is our limit, however, I'll see what we need to do to extend that further (or it there are other options for viewing).

Thanks again for your feedback -- it is extremely helpful in making the ITRC Forums the best!

Regards,
Dan
