Newbie needs help with TCP Wrapping software and compiler

Hi,

I'm ready to pound my head through the wall. Unfortunately, I am not a UNIX Admin by training, but got sucked into this anyway, with no resources available whatsoever...

Anyway...

I don't have the add on ANSI compiler for HP-UX, and I am running version 11. I want to install a tcp wrapping software package, but unfortunately the low end compiler doesn't seem to want to work.

I tried to install gcc on the box, only to find out that version 2.95.X isn't compatable with HP-UX version 11.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or know where I can get a precompiled tcp wrapping software package?

Thanks.
Thanks so much for helping a newbie!

Hi Jeff,

I had some time on my hand and downloaded the file and now I see where you get stuck :-)

I untar'd the file and end up with all the ".c" files which needs compiling now.

Ansi compiler are not free and you can buy them from HP. I don't know of a compiled form, but try to contact the person who maintains the webpage porcupine.com. He might be able to help you.
