newbie with C3000
g'day gents
I am a Nonstop Specialist who decided to learn HP/UX so I bought a used C3000. I have no CDs but the OS works fine. I'll be trying to do a bunch of stuff like installing perl, any SQL engine, a web server, ...
My first priority is to get it on the net.
I have a home network with ethernet.
Any assistance in configuring it and getting a browswer working would be very appreciated.

Re: newbie with C3000
Hi,
Just find out if you have Mozilla installed or not. If it is there then just by configuring the browser, and changing the IP to your local one will allow you to access the local LAN.
Listing Mozilla
#swlist -l bundle |grep -i mozilla
Finding current IP of the server
#lanscan
Changing IP Address and other system parameters like hostname, timezone, gateway etc.
#set_parms initial
After successful reconfiguration install Ignite_UX available at the same site for free and take backup of your server in some external tape/DLT drive if available so that if something goes qwrong sometime you can restore the OS from the tape rather than searching for media.

Re: newbie with C3000
Shalom,
if your set_parms is done right or you set a correct GATEWAY in /etc/rc.config.d and everything else is compliant with your network, which we can't really know here, internet access should be easy.
You can get a good browser for HP-Ux at http://www.hp.com/go/mozilla
The only real settings issue after your swinstall -s \* installation is if you have proxy access to the Internet or direct. Thats set in the mozilla browser setttings.
