NFS client problem with HP-UX 11.00
I have netapps F840 as file server, N4000 4CPU 4GB ram machine as client connected two 1000-SX card. Read too slow compared with local disk
or SAN box. Executing dd for read gives only
33MB/sec where as same read over jbod/san box
gives 55MB/sec. Simutaneous running of dd commands gives 65MB/sec equivalent to jbod/san box.I use NFS v3 for mounting with rsize=32768 & jumbo frames. All NFS,Network patches upto
Aril 2001 have been installed.

Re: NFS client problem with HP-UX 11.00
So whats the problem ??
Did you seriously expect filesystems mounted over NFS to perform as fast as local disks on your N-class ?
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: NFS client problem with HP-UX 11.00
I have 500GB Oracle DB running over it. Initially we where on HP's FC60 with Raid 5, but the write was too slow (We have 30% write & 70% read). So we migrated to F840 which imroved our write but decreased read performance. Is there
any options available on HP to boost NFS read
performance via Gigabit card.
