NFS : diagnostic & analyse
Hi,
We use the Network Appliance (Netapp) which is based nfs file systeme.
My Dba critique the performance of NFS over
HP.11.00 but the same application run as well on HP.11.23.
Can you please HELP me to analyse the situation.

Re: NFS : diagnostic & analyse
11.00 is obsolete so OS improvements are unlikely. You can start by looking at the health of the network path. I would not share NFS filesystems with any other traffic, but instead use a dedicated NIC for the Netapp connection if possible. Use the number reported in nfsstat as a comparison, and of course, don't try to fix your 11.00 system until you are up to date on all patches related to NFS which includes filesystem (VxFS, HFS), disk drivers (SCSI, fibre, arrays, etc), networking (TCP/IP, NIC drivers), and of course, NFS patches.
Or save yourself a lot of research and just load the latest HWE and QPK patch bundles for 11.00. But you had better hurry because 11.00 is obsolete and these bundles may disappear soon:
