.nfs (dot before nfs) files not getting deleted

I am running an HP-UX 11.11 system patched to the september Quality patchset as an nfs client to a Solaris 9 system. I am running automount on the HP-UX system. When I try to remove an nfs-mounted directory, I sometimes get a failure claiming that the directory is not empty. Inspection shows that there are a number of .nfs files in the directory in question. It is my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that it is the nfs client that creates these files and it should be cleaning them up. I've tried searching for a patch that might fix this, but as you probably guess, searching for ".nfs" will also match "nfs" (at least on the itrc site). Any clues as to how to proceed, besides deleting the directory on the nfs server side?

Hi,

have a look here, it looks somewhat like your problem:
