NFS Restore of VMS backup to HP UX mount fails

Having created a backup on a VMS system using the backup tool over an NFS mount, we are now having trouble restoring back to the NFS mount.
root access has been given to the VMS system and files can be copied / deleted over the NFS mount on the unix system.
The error being produced bye the VMS system is:
VMS> backup a.a dnfs777:[000000]b.new/lo
%BACKUP-E-OPENOUT, error opening DNFS777:[000000]B.NEW;1 as output
-RMS-E-CRE, ACP file create failed
-SYSTEM-F-PROTOCOL, network protocol error
Any help would be great, thanks in advance,
Jason

try creating a symbolic link to the file with a reasonable name on the ux side. All those chars are probably being interpreted as shell commands.

						Bill,
Thanks for that, but a VMS symbolic link does not work over the NFS mount to the Unix system.
To clarify, we are trying to restore an entire file system to the NFS mount from which it was backed up. The backup is held on a VMS system whcich has the NFS mount to the unix system.
I am interested in the file creation error and protocol error. Has anyone else has done this before, restored a VMS backup to a Unix system via NFS?
Cheers,
Jason
