NFS - Samba: problem in copying big files

Hi all,
I've a UX11i box that mounts a linus file system re-exported from NT box. This work fine for files that do not exceed 1MB for bigger sizes I've got the following error: "cp: cannot close filename: Permission denied". I try to have the 3 boxes under the same network switch, hard mounting with NFS version 2 and 3. The LAN interface of the UX box is 10M. This stuff works fine with other newer boxes with UX 10.20; it also works if I copy the "big" files just to the samba file sistem not re-exported from NT.

Some suggestion?
Thank you
Romano

Re: NFS - Samba: problem in copying big files

Hi Romano,
You can use CIFS/9000 client on HP-UX in order to avoid the export from Linux.
CIFS/9000 client offer a tool cifsmount which allow an HP-UX to connect to a NT Share.
I'm using it without any trouble !

Re: NFS - Samba: problem in copying big files

We're using CIFS9000 on HPUX 11i, and last night we copied a 1 Gigabyte file from a Win2000 across the Samba share. It took about 90 seconds across a gigabit LAN, from a multiprocessor Dell box to an RP7410. There
were no problems with it.

I suspect that your systems are just out of date.
