Re: NFS server B not responding still trying. will it degrade server performance
It depends? Is the filesystem that is mounted from the non-responding server important to production work? If so, then it could have a large performance impact in that some critical processes may not work.
This is definitely something you should look at and get taken care of.

Re: NFS server B not responding still trying. will it degrade server performance
NFS should never be used on a production server unless the NFS server is also production quality. When an NFS server stops working, it is like ripping a disk out of your computer. All programs that depend on the data on this mountpoint will hang. That's a very serious impact to your server. bdf, df and find and many other commands may try to access this missing disk and hang.

Re: NFS server B not responding still trying. will it degrade server performance
Hi Almond,
Best practices NFS server U boot up first then U boot up related all server, if possible U reboot first NFS server then rest of the server in Ur environment. If all the server not production mode, other ways U need down time.
Thanksâ Yaqub
