NFS Server not responding

I have created a challenge for my self. I have an A class server direct connected to an NFS server via 100BT crossover cable. This worked fine until I manually forced both connections to 100BT-FD. Now when the A class boots, it can 't find the NFS server, and wont complete the boot process. The interesting thing is that I can ping the A from the NFS server. My question is, is there a way to boot in 'single user mode' or some equivalent (I'm a solaris admin by trade - new to HP-UX) I need to be able to change back the config file so that the system will boot and I can get things working again. BTW, I don't have any boot media for this system.

Re: NFS Server not responding

To boot single user:

-power on
-interrupt boot sequence by repeat pressing of ESC key
-at the prompt type:
boot pri isl
-Answer Y to "Interect with IPL' prompt
-At the ISL prompt type:
hp-ux -is
-Eventually you will see the # prompt - you are now superuser.
