NFS server (number of group limit)
Hi,
I have a cluster of 2 NFS servers running HPUX11 and exporting filesystems on other Unix platform.
The problem is:
When a user belongs to more than 16 groups on the other Unix, he can NOT access the nfs mounted filesystems and get the message:
"NFS3 RFS3_ACCESS failed for server hp_server_name :RPC: Authentication error.
ksh: /filesystem_name: bad directory."
When I reduce the number of groups to 15 for that user, he can access the mounted filesystem.
Is this problem known from HP and is there any fix or workaround?
Thanks,
Phil.

Re: NFS server (number of group limit)
Yes, this limit was there
in the NFS of 10.20. I am
not sure , whether it got
resolved with Hpux11 and
NFS 3.X.

Re: NFS server (number of group limit)
Yes the limit is there ..
- 20 for local (not NFS) access.
- 16 NFS access.
I don't think there's a fix because on my 11.0 the limit still exist.
