NFS- Service hanging at startup

Hi there,
I've got a problem with a HPUX machine, at startup the NFS service hangs, the message "NFS server not responding still trying" repeats and repeats. I can't connect trough telnet or ssh, can see the message by displaying the console over GSP connection.

so I can't change the startup config, I can't logon to console, can't do anything.

Is there any possibility to stop the service while booting?

You can disable NFS from startup by editing /etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf.

I should also mention that the author of that thread figured out how to get out of the not responding loop through a key sequence at the console. In my experience the key sequence has been to use the "break" key: either " break" or " break", though the author used something different.

wow, 3 answers in such a tiny time ;) thanks

problem is, I can't change the config because I can't log in ! There is a loop with the error- message which I can't stop. The combination of ctrl+break / alt+break doesn't help. any other suggestions?

stop boot process and use the single user mode to change/disable NFS configuration.
