NFS Write Failed
Hi,
We're getting this error when we try to do a build.
NFS write failed for server adcweb: error 11 (RPC: Server can't decode arguments)
Any patch released by HP to sort out this issue?
Thanks,
J

Re: NFS Write Failed
Shalom,
Please provide details on the data being written and the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log entries from the target server. /etc/exports
I don't think this is a patching issue. I think this is a network connectivity or server configuration issue that will be fixed by diagnosis.
On the other hand, I like to gather all NFS patches, server and client build them into a bundle and install them on all HP-UX systems. This usually is a wide enough net to stop problems that CAN be fixed by patches.

Re: NFS Write Failed
Hi J,
This could very well be a patching issue as I've seen some of these issues crop up recently. I need to know the following:
1) OS version of the NFS client
2) OS version of the NFS server
3) export/share options of the NFS filesystem on the server
4) mount options of the NFS filesystem on the client
Is the write error reproducible or is it completely inconsistent and random?
Regards,
Dave

Re: NFS Write Failed
I had the very same problem on a newly installed HPUX 11.31 (11.iv3).
As a matter of fact this uses a new protocol version of NFS by default (v4).
When I switched back to NFSv3 all worked well again.
Best regards,
pasp
