NIC high-availability
I currently have a primary and secondary firewall between my application farm and my database server (HP-V class machine). I would like to configure the V to support this by teaming two NIC's. Is there a way to configure two NIC's so that they have the same IP? This way if the primary firewall fails (connected to NIC #1), the secondary firewall can talk directly with NIC #2 w/o interuption to clients?

Re: NIC high-availability
It is possible to configure 2 NIC's to the same IP address using a product called Auto Port Aggregation (APA) but as far as I know that only works if the NIC's are connected to the same switch. Your best bet is to use MC/ServiceGuard. It is really made to deal with your situation plus quite a bit more.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
