NIS Client

Should I include the IP and hostname of the master and replica servers in the /etc/hosts file on NIS clients?

Re: NIS Client

Shalom Danny,

If you use /etc/hosts for name resolution, see /etc/nsswtich.conf you should have a consistent /etc/hosts database on all nis clients.

ipaddress hostname

Re: NIS Client

Hi,

sorry, but I don't understand the previous answers - my NIS clients are configured with the NIS domain name. In the clients /etc/hosts there's only the client IP and hostname and a '+' at the end.

And NIS is working properly ...
