NIS+ cold_start_file

Does any one know if its possible to edit out unwanted servers from the nis_cold_start file.
I cant find ref. to a standard utility.
I have tried manually editing it, but their appears to be 4char at the end of the file that
represent some form of file check mechanism.
I have not been able to translate this back to a valid checksum??.

The reason is, I am trying to temporarily get round a problem induced by a replica. But i dont want the rep removed from the domain.

Isn't there a utility called "nistbladm" (NIS+ table admin tool) that allows you to modify your configuration ? Check ..
# man nistbladm
for details .. I do not have NIS+ implementation experience to offer more advice.

Re: NIS+ cold_start_file

Thanks for the reply.

nistbladm is used to modify NIS+ tables.
I think I am right in saying the NIS_COLD_START file is not strictly speaking a NIS+ table.
The file name is also a different format to the normal tables.

I have just tried to use it without success.
