When I try to configure NIS via SAM, I get the message "NIS cannot be configured because this host is a trusted system". Can somebody help me to resolve this problem?

For trusted systems you have to use NIS+

somebody correct me if I am wrong but I remember reading some place that trusted systems and NIS are mutually exclusive, i.e., trusted systems can not use NIS.

No, I don't want to use NIS+.
Could you tell me how I can make this system to an "untrusted" system, because my other HP-UX systems don't send this message.

to make the system untrusted, you need to run command

tsconvert -r
