NIS error help
I get the error in Syslog:
sd1 nisd[29848]: [ID 357067 daemon.warning] Couldn't fork a process!
Please help

You have to increase the value of the kernel parameter "nproc" it seems...

This can happen in cases when the number of processess exeeds maxuprc or when you run out of swap sapce to create a new process.
You can check/increase maxuprc tunable to sort out the problem.
