NIS/NFS over a trunk line

Does anyone have documentation that says if HP-UX does or does not support NIS/NFS in a trunk line environment between VLANs. I already have the documentation that they are not supported across subnets. I was wondering if trunk lines had the same problem. Thanks.

Re: NIS/NFS over a trunk line

Steve,

Can you clarify what you mean by "trunk line"?

Would the server and the clients be within the same subnet? What is the latency time (one way and round trip), worst case?

Re: NIS/NFS over a trunk line

I am trying to connect up to 40 workstations across 2-3 switches. Dividing those workstations into 5-10 VLANs. Then defining a trunk on an additional switch to provide NIS/NFS services to all VLANs.
I am using HP-UX 10.20
