NIS on HP-UX and UNIX services for WINDOWS 2000
IS there anyone out there currently working on implemnting the password sync between NIS
or NIS+ on HP-UX 11 and the UNIX services on Windows 2000, and has found any issues? Or infact any user groups/ref sites. I am tlrying to put a very large nis setup (over 100 HP-UX machines) and 150 WIN 2000 to work harmoniously, any comments help would be appreciated.

Re: NIS on HP-UX and UNIX services for WINDOWS 2000
NT usernames are not case-sensitive in regular use, but that you can store case-sensitive names. NIS is case-sensitive. The point simply being, make sure you don't end up with an NISJDoe and NTjdoe because you won't sync logins properly.

Re: NIS on HP-UX and UNIX services for WINDOWS 2000
I setup a similar site for win95/98 machines using Samba and making a the HPUX NIS master the domain controller. This was the best option I found at the time have a look at
www.samba.org

Minimum effort maximum output!
