Re: NIS+ with Trusted System

Marcelo,
Yes you can use NIS+, not NIS however.

Here is a quote from an HP Doc I have...

HP-UX can support an NIS+ configuration that includes HP-UX standard and Trusted Systems and non-HP-UX systems.

Good Luck,

Yes, NIS+ is compatible with a trusted system.

Regular NIS is NOT.

Re: NIS+ with Trusted System

Nope...
I know of NO networking authentication which is clean for C2 compliance at all. Microsoft claims to be, but their encryption is easier to break than NIS! :)

Since there may be differing opinions, check it out for yourself.

Once there go to Chp 8 the section on using NIS+

Re: NIS+ with Trusted System

hi,

In an earlier site, we had problems using
NIS+ with trusted systems. We couldnt get it to work cleanly. HP was working on fixing the bugs. Ultimately, we yanked of Trusted system and used only NIS+.

This was two years back. I am not sure whether the problems have been fixed now.
