nmbd process disappeared

1 samba process nmbd was disappeared after a 2-hours disconnection between the HP9000 server and the HUB.

Could someone advise me how to trace?

Check the samba log. Also what does sylog/dmesg say??

Check the network problems.
netstat -an
netfmt -f /var/adm/nettl.LOGxx
