No Display while Booting

Hi, friends,
I have HP9000 L2000 Server with HP-UX 11i is loaded , with firmware 44.11 which woking fine , if i use terminal console. I had added HP A6150A graphics card in Turbo slot 7 which has path 0/5/0/0 , Os is detected this card, when i connect HP Monitor , i am not able to view any booting process still it complete the os loading parts , onces its strat loding for CDE then its gives the loging screen on monitor , then i can work as normal , same process for shutdown also , no display while shutting down , once CDE stop no dislplay on Monitor.

Hi Vinod,

The card needs to work as system console in order for you to see those boot/shutdown messages. Looks like it doesn't. I could only find information about A6150B card and it doesn't seem to support.

I found this in an internal support document:

"The A6150A is optional and does NOT provide graphics console support (IE: the A6150A can not be used as a system console)."

Looks like you will need to use your regular GSP port for system console messages.

I faced a similar problem sometime back though not with this A6150A graphics card. You can try onething before giving up.

using the terminal console, from the BCH configuration menu, change the console path to 0/5/0/0 and try booting the machine.
