no entry after clearing the log files

Hi all,

Before two days i just null the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log as the log file became big. After that there is no entry coming in the log file in two days. what should i do now? because the system is the production system. the OS is hp-ux 11iv1.

please help me.

I would suggest you always stop and start syslog before nulling out the old one:

/sbin/init.d/syslog stop
/sbin/init.d/syslog start

This should also restart logging.
