no find function on the forum!

It's a shame that no search fonction exist on the HP forum.
When I use the search URL, it never get to search in the forum database. Am I missing something?

Re: no find function on the forum!

It is strange that you don't get that, cause when I'm in the ITRC forums and I click on search, the box that gets displayed, shows me a check box to search within ITRC forums.
Cooperation is doing with a smile what you have to do anyhow.

You need to check the box that says ITRC Forums.

Re: no find function on the forum!

Just click the "search" at the left side ITRC bar of this page. Check "itrc forum" and enter your search text.

Re: no find function on the forum!

Thanks to every one for your answers but :
- I know I can click on the search button on the left frame (I can read!)
My remark is in fact about the poor ergonomy of it!
Because the URL is a javascript, you can't open it in a different window or signet (with netscape 7) and this link takes you away from the forum you are currently checking. It is just not practical... That is what I meant with my remark (angry one !)

Re: no find function on the forum!

Laurent,

Glad to hear you can read! We certainly weren't trying to insult you. Some people have a hard time finding that button for some reason. I agree that the search function can be troublesome, but the fact that it doesn't come up in a separate window can be addressed quite easily by opening another window just for search functions. I always keep a separate window open for just that purpose.

Good luck - keep on foruming!

Re: no find function on the forum!

Hi Laurent,

We all agree with you that searching in this forum does not offer much flexibilty.

I am sure HP is working on it (maybe it has been given a low priority).

Features that everyone would have like would include (if not all):
=============================
Timestamp : Between and
Last Updated: Between and
Subject Like:
Email Equals:
Version Like:
Page Contains:
Order By [ ] None
[ ] Last Updated
[ ] Score
[ ] Subject
[ ] Timestamp
[ ] Version
=============================

bear with it Laurent and cheer up! :)

Let's be positive.
