No production on this source which compatible w target

Mirror disk software couldnt install, when keyin the command, it gives No production on this source which compatible w target, then the 'log error' would be /lib directory is on mounted volumn.cannot install software unless /lib is on the root volumn, due to share libralies.
however, there is a fresh install system without any new vg.

Re: No production on this source which compatible w target

Could you post the output of the 'swinstall' session log, so we can see exact messages.

See /var/adm/sw/swinstall.log

Re: No production on this source which compatible w target

hi, i've view in /var/adm/sw/swinstall.log. it's really too long. I will show you the log error.

ERROR: The /lib directory is on a mounted volumn. Cannot install software unless /lib is on the root volumn, due to share libralies.(They reside in /lib, and must be present for most HP-UX command to run)
ERROR: cannot continue the analysis phase until the previous errors are corrrected.

Pls advise
thanks

Post the output of the 'bdf' command.

It sounds like someone made /lib its own LVOL in VG00. Apparently swinstall doesn't like this.

I agree w/Patrick.
/lib should be a part of the tree of /
Could it be that you came up in LVM mode & it now sees /lib as /root/lib or something along that line?
Else check /etc/fstab - is there a *specific* entry for /lib?
Not supposed to be....
