No 'TO' device

I have a B1000 without a graphics terminal and am using a dumb terminal connected to the serial port for a console.

I was trying to install Debian on an external scsi drive.

As per a previous post, I booted the systems after installing the eternal scsi drive and executed the following:

pvcreate -B /dev/rdsk/c#t#d# # is the actual numbers on the character device for the disk

mkboot /dev/rdsk/c#t#d#

mkboot -a "phux -lq (;0)/stand/vmunix" /dev/rdsk/c#t#d#

I then booted the Debian install from the CDROM. The characters seemed to be for a graphics terminal and I did a hard poweroff.

Now, when I boot, the dumb terminal sits there for quite a while and the "No 'TO' device' message appers on the display.

Any ideas?

Re: No 'TO' device

Dave,
try hard resetting terminal. Power it off, press 'D' key, hold it and turn term on. Wait until it beeps and release 'D' key. Then press enter key by term's request. Then try booting again. At leat we will exclude terminal problem
