Nortel's Net ID administration question
****This is most likely not the correct place to start this thread, but it is by far the most popular and I could find no logical place to put it. If any Forum Admin knows a better place for this thread, please feel free to move it there.****
Curious question on this system..
I have recently learned that it is possible to assign more than one static IP to a network node using this system, but there seems to be a slight glitch.
The old address range that we want to migrate from is in the 172.xxx.xxx.xxx range and the new IP address range that we want to reserve for the network nodes is in the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx range. Using something like NSLOOKUP, we see that both addresses are assigned to the node and the 10. address is listed prior to the 172. address.
Currently when the new addresses are put into the system, the default for the node DNS resolution is turning up as the 10. address, not the 172. as we need.
I seem to remember some article or manual that stated that we should be able to specify which of the two addresses the DNS should default to, but I have been unable to locate the information again.
Does anybody know how this is done or perhaps where I can find this info myself? If you do not want to type it out, I will gladly accept a hyperlink to an online document.
FYI -- Points assigned to every relevant reply, but only after solution has been verified.

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." Stephen Krebbet, 1793-1855
