not able to ping gateway
I have done fresh (Foundation CD) installation of 11iV2 in two BL60 servers. After installation I am not able to ping gateway from both servers. No other configuration done from my end except standard installation.
One old server is up and running fine.
I checked with Network Team but they told that everything fine from there end.
Kindly guide me how to resolve problem.

Re: not able to ping gateway
/etc/rc.config.d/netconf
and compare it to the "working" server.
the file noted contains the network interface, route and gateway information.

Re: not able to ping gateway
From the 2 newly installed servers - assuming they are in the same subnet - are you able to ping each other ?
Can you ping the old server ?
What are the outputs of
netstat -in , netstat -nr and lanscan commands on the 3 servers (2 new and the one old server).
Regards,
Ninad

Re: not able to ping gateway
I think no need of routing information to reach gateway atleast. If both are in same subnet and physical connectivity then it should ping.
You may need to check the lan config and physical connectivity.

Re: not able to ping gateway
Thanks for quick response. I mention that it is Blade server BL60p and it has in built mazzine card.
Eventhough can any one tell what is exact syntax to check connectivity by command network tracing nettl and netfmt?
I compaire configuration with old server and it is same.
Is there any special patch needed as I installed December 2004 Foundation?

Re: not able to ping gateway
Why you did not use an even older version?
BTW, we have 2008.
This version is likely too old to support this server, you should at least install all the current patch bundles.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: not able to ping gateway
You need to re-educate your customer. The rx2620 and blades are generations apart from each other. The customer is asking for incompatibility and endless problems trying to use an old OS on a new piece of hardware. Tell the customer to replace the blades with rx2620's and you'll be fine. 11.23 is supported on the BL60's BUT there is a minimum OS version and 2004 is too old.
