Not able to rest the password
In HPUX(B.10.20 A 9000) ,When i try to lckpwdf: Interrupted system call
Cannot obtain lock for /etc/.pwd.lock
sndb4:/#useing passwd command i am getting Erorr, i am not able to reset the password.
"lckpwdf: Interrupted system call
Cannot obtain lock for /etc/.pwd.lock
XXXX:/#
Please guid me
1. why this error comming
2. What is the solution

The '/etc/.pwd.lock' file may be missing. If so, recreate it as the root user with:
# touch /etc.pwd.lock
# chmod 400 /etc/.pwd.lock

Also besides the good advice above, consider moving the functionality of this system to supported hardware and software.
The age and lack of OS support is eventually going to cause a problem that can't be solved.
