Now to print from Window O/S to HP-UX

Hi all,
We have Visual Basic applications that need to print bar code labels on our K460 system. Does anyone know how this could be done?

Thanks,
Randy

Hi Randy,

Recently you were asking about using CIFS/9000 to share files between your K460 and Windows systems. Well, CIFS/9000 also allows you to share printers too.

There's a whole chapter in the O'Reilly book "Using Samba" on printer sharing.

regards,

Darren.

Jim and Darren,

Thanks for your information on my questions. It's great to have experienced people that are willing to share their knowledge for the rest of the world.

Randy,

If this is a Win2k system, you will also find that you have an option to load options directly from the Win2k installation disk for printing to Unix.

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->Add/Remove Windows Components

Look for the option to load 'Other Network File and Print Services'. If you look at the details on that option you will find that it lists print services for Unix (only).

This could be one other option for you to explore to make things go easier in your quest for the printed page...
